RITA PARKINSON
I am an Australian illustrator from Melbourne. Australia. Originally from the UK, I studied at St Martins College of Art in London and Art History at the Courthauld Institute. London University. My subjects are usually from the the natural world. They could be botanical or from a wider natural history perspective. The essential qualities of this kind of work is a fusion of the scientific approach with detailed accuracy and a love of detail. All combined with design skills to present complex subjects in the best way.
Drawing is a favorite technique. Sometimes this is an end in itself but other times just the starting point, developing further into full colour paintings.
